Dr. Joseph M. Polito

A graduate of Georgetown University and received his medical degree from the Medical College of Virginia. Dr. Polito completed his internal medicine internship and residency requirements in internal medicine at Boston University Medical Center. He subsequently served as Chief Medical Resident at University Hospital in Boston. He completed a fellowship in gastroenterology at Johns Hopkins Hospital – Johns Hopkins University where he published and conducted research on Crohn’s Disease. Dr. Polito was also an Assistant Professor of Medicine at SUNY Stonybrook before joining Albany Gastroenterology Consultants. Dr. Polito has a specialized interest in Inflammatory Bowel Disease. He currently is Chief of Gastroenterology at St. Peter’s Hospital and serves on the board of St. Peter’s Surgery and Endoscopy Center.
