Dr. Alan M. Samuels

Dr. Samuels is a graduate of New York University, University College of Arts and Sciences. He received his medical degree from New York University School of Medicine and completed his internal medicine internship and residency at the University of Rochester School of Medicine. Dr. Samuels served as a Lieutenant Commander in the United States Navy Medical Corps. He was a research fellow in Gastroenterology at Peter Bent Brigham Hospital, Harvard Medical School, and was an Assistant Professor of Medicine at the University of Texas Medical School before relocating in Albany in 1979. Dr. Samuels is the former Chief of Gastroenterology at Albany Memorial Hospital. He is currently a board member of St. Peter’s Surgery and Endoscopy Center. Interests include general gastroenterology, hepatology and biliary tract disease. Dr. Samuels was recognized as Physician of the Year in 1994 by the Capital District Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation.
